As the temperature turns up and back-to-school shopping begins, a refreshing juice is just the thing to fortify both children and adults. So what better beverage than lemonade to energize and cool us down. Our lemonade recipe includes a few handfuls of leafy greens to make it #notyouraverage and just a tad more nutritious. We love it because kids love it too! A wonderful way to sneak in some green vegetables while getting the same zesty edge our classic lemonade.

BLEND USED: Bored-O Blanc California Grape Nectar

Tasting attributes: Ease the bitterness of fresh veggies with floral hints from Bored-O Blanc Grape Nectar

Using all your spinach before it goes bad is easier said than done. But have no fear for this Green “Lemonade” is a fantastic way to use all your excess spinach before it wilts. Now we love Minute Maid and Simply Lemonade, but anywhere we can add some leafy greens, we add them! This drink has a different twist on your usual green juice with the addition of lemons and Grape Nectar. Granny smith apples add mild sweetness that complement the crispness of a single pear. Finally, cucumber creates a revitalizing flavor among the sweet fruits and earthy spinach. And everything comes together with Bored-O Blanc’s stone fruit attributes.

Paired with the sour punch of lemon juice, bitter flavors from juiced spinach tastes more delicious than eating it raw. Both ingredients reduce stress and aid in increasing your metabolism while they also have anti-aging qualities. So let's fight off wrinkles with a drink that takes us back to our childhood. Better yet, children will not even notice they are drinking such a healthy beverage full of natural vitamins. Instead of refusing to each their veggies, kids will be demanding seconds and sharing with their friends.

If you usually opt for smoothies because they typically are more fulfilling and full of healthy fiber, we encourage you to step out of your comfort zone and try this wholesome recipe. Instead of replacing a meal with a smoothie, which seems to be the trend these days, this Green “Lemonade” is perfect to help wash down breakfast, lunch, and dinner, especially on a hot/humid day. With minimal calories while still retaining all vitamins from the ingredients, there are no preservatives or additives in this juice unlike so many juices that are found in stores today.

Store in the refrigerator and use within the week for optimal freshness. We like to pour over ice for a cooler refreshment, but if that's not your thing, Green "Lemonade" is great right when it's made or straight out of the fridge. This drink is most attractive served in a clear container so each connoisseur has the chance to appreciate its vibrant color.

Bored-O Blanc makes this juice just the right amount of sweet that is loved by kids and adults alike! Super simple and full of vitamins and minerals, Green “Lemonade” is a new twist on you favorite childhood beverage. #DRINKBETTER
