REPLACE HONEY, AGAVE, SIMPLE AND MAPLE SYRUP
Start with half.
Not all honey or syrups are created equally, so start with half the amount of grape nectar that you would use of your alternative sugar. i.e. If you use 1 teaspoon honey in your tea, try a HALF TEASPOON Grape Nectar.
Add to taste.
Some like a subtle sweetness, some like it strong. It's up to you!
REPLACE WHITE SUGAR IN A BAKING RECIPE
Here's how to alter your original recipe:
- Use 1/2 - 2/3 cup* nectar for every 1 cup sugar called for in original recipe *It depends on how sweet you prefer your recipe
- Reduce other liquids by 1/4 cup (or 4 Tbsp) for every 1 cup nectar i.e. If you are using 1/2 c nectar in a recipe, reduce your other liquids in the recipe by 2 Tbsp
- Add ¼ tsp baking soda for 1 c nectar
- Lower oven temperature by 25 degrees
